Hi, I’m Eeva! And I am looking for my furever home.

I am a very sweet girl – all I want to do is please you and be around you all day. I enjoy belly rubs, snuggling on the couch or in bed, and always make sure that I’m close by. I will keep you company in your office, stay by you while you are making meals, lay at your feet when you are eating, follow you up and down the stairs wherever you go. 

I enjoy meeting new people and seeing people I’ve already met. I do get excited when people come over, but once I get noticed and petted, I calm down and generally leave them alone. I am still just a puppy (about a year and half, 3 months of which were spent in a crate all by myself in a shelter) so I have a lot of energy and appreciate it when I have things to keep me occupied (bully sticks, peanut butter-filled kongs, pig ears, etc.) I have fun figuring out the kibble dispenser and other meal-time puzzles, and even non-mealtime puzzles. 

I am still somewhat insecure when it comes to meeting other dogs, though. With proper introductions I am good with male dogs; female dogs and I do not do well together (my anxiousness gets the better of me and I don’t always behave very well.) I’m probably best suited to be an only pet because I get quite jealous when my foster family are paying attention to the other dog in the house. I want to be the favorite!

I enjoy going on walks, sniffing and smelling and following the trails of all the scents I come across. I listen pretty well to my commands, but I’m still working on heel. I like to be the lead on my walks so sticking close by you is a touch difficult for me. When I heel, I do well, and even auto sit when we stop. I love car rides, running around in the yard, chewies and playing tug. I have a hard time giving up the ball but love it when you throw it for me. Really, I love any time you spend with me, no matter what we’re doing. When you leave the house, I will lay by the door until you come home.
